What is SETI@home ?
SETI@home is a scientific experiment that harnesses the power of hundreds of thousands of Internet-connected computers in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI).
You can participate by running a free program that downloads and analyzes radio telescope data. There's a small but captivating possibility that your computer will detect the faint murmur of a civilization beyond Earth.
Instructions:
Step One:
- Download and install the SETI@home software HERE. A new window will open. The SETI@home software will lead you through the process of setting up your user account and password. After you have completed this step, come back here.
Step Two:
- Once you have installed the SETI@home software, click below to join the TechDictionary SETI team.

- That's it! You're now part of the TechDictionary SETI Team! Plus, you're taking an active part in one of the grandest experiments in human history.
